Credito Cooperativo

In order to retain the advantages linked to their small size, widespread action and roots in the territory, Italian Cooperative Credit Banks (Credito Cooperativo) are structured in a national system focused on two main areas: association and entrepreneurship.
The association area is divided into three sectors: local, regional and national. BCC-CR, after their creation, are members of local federations (that represent one or more regions, and whose overall number is 15) that are associated to Federcasse, the national federation that promotes, coordinates and provides technical and auditing assistance to the entire Cooperative Credit System.
The entrepreneurial area is made up of Iccrea Banking Group, represented by Iccrea Holding, and Subsidiary Companies, that exclusively provide products and services to BCC-CR (Banche Credito e Casse Rurali- Cooperative Credit Banks and Rural Banks). In its broad International Co-operative Lending framework, BCC-CR participates in the UNICO banking Group (through Iccrea Holding) and to the Association of European Co-operative Banks (with Federcasse). Credito Cooperativo, furthermore, participates in the Raiffeisen International Union, a body aimed at spreading cooperative lending in southern countries worldwide, following the lessons of Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen, the “founder” of cooperative lending.
